We all are collectors in one way or another. When we were kids, most of us liked to collect action figures, others collected jewelry, and some wanted cards. As the hobby of collecting things is not bound to any age or gender, it appears that it’s also not limited to any particular species.
We have often heard about cats collecting bright objects, socks, and stuffed toys, so it would be okay to say that Bruce, the dog’s story, is not going to be a big surprise. The dog loves to collect sticks.
A pic of Bruce that recently went viral on the internet showed the dog displaying his stick collection in front of his owner. Not only did he get praise from his owner, but the pic also won the hearts of countless people on the internet.
Ironically, there is a backstory to this 4-year-old Golden Retriever’s stick obsession.
According to the dog’s owner, Icenhour, Bruce’s obsession with collecting sticks started when he lost his favorite stick in the snow one day. Carrying the grief of the lost stick, Bruce began to collect wooden sticks of all shapes and sizes and gathered about 50 sticks in his collection.
Two years ago, while playing fetch with his owner, Bruce injured himself with a stick that punctured his esophagus. Bruce ultimately recovered from his injury, but sadly, after the injury, he was not allowed to play with wooden sticks anymore.
With the restriction put on him, Bruce’s owner came up with a new idea and decided to give the dog some rubber made sticks. Now that the pooch is in full shape, although Bruce enjoys playing with rubber sticks, he will still never give up on his passion for collecting wooden sticks no matter what may come his way.
