The Yorkshire Terrier and Bichon Frise mix Bowie is a rescue dog from New Jersey. He is amiable and charming. While some dogs get scared or bark at the mailman, Bowie gets excited when he sees his favorite mailman, William Morgan.
Morgan is one of the nicest mailmen, according to the people in the neighborhood he serves. He loves dogs too, and he even knows the name of the residents’ dogs. The residents consider him a friend because he has been a part of them for more than 20 years.
Bowie’s Heroic Act
One day, while Bowie’s mommy, Cyndi Dawson, was reading a good book, the dog suddenly barked at her and nipped at her pants. Cyndi thought that Bowie just wanted to play, but she was not in the mood for it. However, the dog persistently barked at her and tried to lead her to the door. Confused, Cyndi gave in and followed Bowie to the door.
When she unlocked the door, she saw the mail truck parked outside their house. Cyndi knows that Bowie likes the mailman so much, so she let him out. Then, she realized that the mail truck crashed into her husband’s car and saw Morgan’s legs hanging on the side.
Cyndi called out to Morgan, but there was no response. Bowie ran to the mail truck and continued barking loudly. Bowie’s barking made Cyndi realize that Morgan’s life was in danger. She rushed to the car too and saw him unconscious while lying on the seat.
She hurriedly called 911, who immediately sent an ambulance to the area. Luckily, Morgan survived the ordeal though he still needs more treatment to recover fully. It turned out he has a medical condition that triggered the attack. If Bowie did not call Cyndi’s attention on time, it could have lead to a worse outcome.
When Morgan learned that Bowie was the one who saved his life, he was more than grateful. Morgan loves the rescue dog, and he finds it amazing that Bowie sensed that he was in danger.
