Undoubtedly, our doggos are among the bravest creatures to ever walk the planet. They are so fearless that they would stand toe to toe, or should we say, paw to paw, with other people or animals, especially if their beloved humans are being threatened.
But despite their unwavering bravery and loyalty, there are some things that send our puppers home with their tails between their legs, and most of these things aren’t really as terrifying as our doggos make them out to be. As we all know, our fur babies are horrified by vacuum cleaners and fireworks. But as it turns out, we can add escalators to that list.
Willow, the two-year-old Golden Retriever in the viral video below, is one of those puppers who have a fear of escalators. Her dog mom, Sam Lamac, a property consultant from Manila, Philippines, explained that it all started last year when she brought Willow to the mall.
Sam shared that she likes bringing the furry goofball to the mall not just to kill her pup’s boredom but to give Willow her much-needed exercise as well. They would often use the elevator, but when Willow encountered the escalator for the first time, she was horrified! The poor pooch whimpered and refused to move.
When this happened for the first time, Sam used dog treats to encourage her fur baby to take the escalator. But after that, Willow wouldn’t budge for anything. So, Sam decided to carry her pupper every time they took the escalator from that point on.
Sam spends a lot of time inside shopping malls because of her work, and she always takes Willow with her. So much so that her colleagues from her company, Avida Land, started calling the pooch “Avida Dog.”
Hopefully, Willow will be known as the real estate doggo, not the pooch who is scared of escalators. But either way, she still looks super adorable whenever Sam carries her on the escalator. Watch Willow’s viral clip below.
