A woman in Phoenix, Arizona adopted a three-month-old dog named Bubba from an animal shelter and introduced him to her roommate. The woman’s roommate had just rescued a litter of kittens, which were being fostered until they were old enough to be adopted.
Bubba became accustomed to the cats and developed an endearing liking for them. Bubba’s fur mom was aware that her dog would like to have a feline sister, but she waited until they had moved to New York before getting one.
The adoptive mother of Bubba submitted adoption applications for all available kitties but received no response. She eventually received an email from a Brooklyn shelter promoting the adoption of a litter of seven-week-old kittens. This piqued her curiosity, so she decided to check the kittens out herself.
The following morning, Bubba’s mother traveled to Brooklyn to adopt a kitten, despite not knowing what the animal looked like. She only knew that Bubba was prepared for a feline sibling and she wanted him to have a sibling as a companion at home.
When Bubba’s human mother found an orange kitten resembling Bubba, she assumed it was fate and chose, adopted, and called the cat Rue. The woman predicted that Bubba would be pleased when she returned home with Rue, and after observing his response, she was ecstatic. Bubba was delighted as he observed Rue climbing all over their pet mother’s lap.
Bubba handled Rue with extreme caution since he knew she was a fragile kitten. Upon meeting, Rue and Bubba formed an instant bond and were inseparable.
The dog delighted in grooming Rue whenever he had the chance, whilst Rue longed for frequent cuddling with Bubba. Bubba took his role as Rue’s older sibling seriously, ensuring her safety whenever she walked outside or drank from the twice-her-size water bowl.
