The team from Hope For Paws was notified about two homeless dogs that have been seeking shelter under an abandoned school. When the team got there, they can see that there were two dogs — a pregnant pitbull and a shepherd.
Both were scared, but their hunger drove them out of their hiding place. Lisa Arturo started to give them treats and the same treats were used to lure them into following her. Both were cautious but still followed Lisa.
The team has set up a trap beforehand, and the shepherd got inside. The crew tried to keep the pitbull calm when she saw her partner being trapped but it only worked for a while. The pregnant pitbull went back to the abandoned school because she became too overwhelmed.
Another trap was brought in while the whole team hid from the dog’s view. After about half an hour, the dog finally came out and got into the trap. It was perfect timing too as it started raining.
Some officers from the LAPD even came by to tell the team that they were glad the dogs were being rescued. With both dogs in tow, the group headed to the hospital where the dogs were cleaned checked. Finally, both dogs are safe and are guaranteed to get food every day.
They named the pitbull Tooney and the shepherd, Sully. Six weeks later, Tooney gave birth to nine adorable dogs. All eleven of them were safe, healthy and happy.
Fortunately enough, Jennifer Gray from Sunny Day Acres found Sully an amazing home. Sully is now living with his forever family while Tooney and her puppies are waiting for theirs. The team has rescued hundreds, if not thousands of dogs.
Hope For Paws has changed these dog’s lives, and now it’s the people turn by adopting one.
