Malamute Doesn’t Want To Use Car’s Back Door

Malamute Doesn’t Want To Use Car’s Back Door

Bridget Kimpton June 9, 2024

Just like Siberian huskies, Alaskan malamutes tend to be stubborn. When they don’t want to do something, they will refuse to do it no matter how many times you command them.

Malamutes are also notorious for talking back to their owners. Owners of malamutes know that when their dog throws a fit, they need to be firm and persistent about getting the dog to obey. Otherwise, the dog would always try to have its way.

However, there are times when a malamute just won’t do what it’s told. When its stubbornness attacks, it’s often difficult to get it to move, just like the dog in our video.

An Alaskan malamute went to the park with his humans and his sibling dog for some playtime. When it was time to go home, the dog refused to get in the car using the vehicle’s back door.

The dog sat on the grass behind the car and didn’t move. His human tried to get him to jump in the car by gently pulling him. However, with his full weight on the ground, his human could neither pull him nor push him.

Laughing at his stubbornness, the dog’s human attempted to pull his legs again, but to no avail. Instead of getting up, the malamute lay on the grass.

The malamute’s sibling dog was already in the trunk. However, he refused to enter the car that way. He wanted his humans to know he was not getting in the car through the back door, and he meant business.

Perhaps he decided he wanted to get in the car through the same door his humans used. Or maybe he didn’t like the idea of using the car’s back door. He alone understood his reasons for not obeying his human.

Finally, his human gave in. She closed the trunk and opened the rear door.

“Get in,” the amused dog owner told the malamute, who happily hopped in the car. He won the argument, and he knew it. Watch the dog’s video below.
