It’s funny how dogs like Golden Retrievers manage to save our lives with their heightened senses and outstanding intuition. There are a handful of stories on the internet of how a canine detected a cancer tumor before it even showed up on his owner’s legs. One pooch also saved a whole family from a fire in the middle of the night.
But this Golden Retriever’s version of saving her fur mom was a rather timely little accident, to say the least. An unnamed Taiwanese woman was set to fly to Wuhan, China, to spend the holidays one time in January. However, all of her plans are ruined when she went home one day to her passport, torn up and scattered on her apartment floor.
The culprit, who was snuggled up in the bed, looking all guilty, was her Golden Retriever named Kimi. The pooch might have gone through her things and found her passport interesting. Kimi’s owner was fuming mad when she found out what the dog did.
She had a flight to Wuhan on the following week, and now that her passport was torn, she had no way of catching up on her trip. She posted a quick rant on Facebook about her pet’s misbehavior and how she couldn’t enjoy her holidays anymore.
Several days later, she saw plenty of news of how a new strain of the coronavirus is infecting people everywhere. The novel coronavirus, simplified as nCoV, was believed to originate from Wuhan, the city where she was supposed to go to.
She thought about the day when Kimi ruined her passport and silently thanked her pooch for potentially saving her from possible infection. Whether Kimi was only hungry or wanted more attention from his owner, he did a great job of preventing her from leaving for Wuhan. Look how guilty she looks here.
