A Boy Who Had Been Reported Missing Was Located By Bloodhounds In Less Than Thirty Minutes

A Boy Who Had Been Reported Missing Was Located By Bloodhounds In Less Than Thirty Minutes

Bridget Kimpton May 6, 2023

Everyone loves dogs because they are endearing and devoted creatures. In fact, we’ve heard numerous uplifting anecdotes of dogs being adorable, kind, and lifesavers in general.

During the community quarantines, online stories of adorable dogs have become sufficient to sustain us for days. However, the account of a pack of bloodhounds in Florida is on an entirely different level. The bloodhounds had just assisted a party of rescuers in locating a lost boy in the woods.

One Sunday, Aedric, an autistic youngster, was playing under the supervision of his grandma. They reside in Pace on the Panhandle in Florida.

The youngster decided to go on an adventure and sneak out of his grandmother’s sight and go into the wilderness. The youngster must have gotten lost, as his grandmother became concerned when she couldn’t locate him.

Aedric’s mother, Audra Hughes, was scared when she received the call that her son was missing. Officers from the Sheriff’s Office searched the neighborhood for two hours without success in an attempt to locate Aedric. These officers from Santa Rosa County then utilized bloodhounds to expedite the hunt.

Sheriff Bob Johnson stated that the trained dogs were able to locate the missing youngster within 28 minutes of hitting the ground. The officers said at a news conference that Aedric was discovered approximately 200 yards away as he was kind of stuck in the bushes.

The authorities required a machete to extricate the child from his predicament. The boy was thankfully unscathed other than a few scrapes, mosquito bites, and mud and moss stains.

The facts of Aedric’s rescue were reported on District One Commissioner Sam Parker’s Facebook page. The page featured a message congratulating the rescue crew on their success and thanking everyone who participated in the effort. Obviously, it was said that the bloodhounds were crucial to the swift and effective rescue of Aedric.
