Quincy was an English Bulldog who was born on a Christmas morning. NorCal Bully Breed Rescue, a foster-based rescue organization, had to take her hours after she was born via Cesarean section because she had a cleft lip and could not nurse from her mother. They had to give her food through a tube and put her in an incubator to keep her warm and oxygenated. Inside the incubator was a bag so that she would have something to cuddle.
She was mostly asleep during the first days. After a couple of weeks, she opened her eyes and started to move a bit more but she still preferred to sleep for the greater part of the day. After about five weeks, she was finally well enough to get out of the incubator.
Quincy loved to run once she was out of the incubator. She particularly loved to be with the older dogs. Her favorite game was sneaking up and jumping on them. She had so many funny antics that cheers everyone in the house.
At about two and a half months old, she broke her leg because she was so active. The vet needed to put her leg in a cast, but it did not slow her down. She was still as playful as ever. The leg fully healed after a month.
Meanwhile, a couple in San Francisco named Lindsey and Alexander had recently lost their bulldog. Lindsey saw a post that the rescue group was bringing Quincy to the city for a meet and greet. The couple just wanted to see her so that they could cheer themselves up.
When they saw Quincy, their first impression was that she was a sweet and gentle soul because she seemed so quiet and polite. They fell in love with her and took her home with them. To the couple’s pleasant surprise, she was very playful and active. Quincy brought back happiness into their lives, and they appreciated her for that.
Lately, she acted as a big sister and protector to the new human addition in the family. They hoped that there would be many more years to make memories with Quincy.
