Doing activities with the same group over and over again gets old sooner or later. So this male pup tricked his mom into leaving him behind when the litter went off for an activity.
Merlin wanted a taste of a different adventure this time. Maybe he wanted to know how discovering things by himself felt like.
It didn’t take long before he spotted different animals on the farm, and Merlin felt a little intimidated. They were bigger and taller than him, and they also sounded different too. He started having second thoughts.
Merlin moved away from the tall and neighing farm inhabitants to find his way home. While he walked along, he spotted a familiar figure, one that his parents often herded.
Merlin approached the goat, testing his herding style. He thought that if mom and dad could do it, he could too. Thinking positive is a good start pet, but there’s much to learn.
The goat knew that the pup ventured farther than usual, and he was determined to bring Merlin safely home. The bearded and horned animal nudged the dog gently to send him on his way, but the puppy refused to budge.
The goat realized he has to lead this one home. It’s a welcome change from being told where to go all the time.
Along the way, Mr. Goat taught Merlin the importance of eating grass. In return, Merlin showed the goat that twigs and small branches are pretty tasty too.
Off the duo went, and pretty soon, Merlin joined his family. Worried mama breathed a relieved sigh. We’re sure she couldn’t thank Mr. Goat enough for walking her puppy back safely.
Merlin was fascinated by this kind animal who preferred eating grass than dog food. And just like that, a most unlikely friendship was formed.
