Kodak is a Pitbull that escaped his loving home when his dad, Derrick, wasn’t looking. Kodak was missing for over a year until the local rescue in Indiana located him and helped him get back to his dad.
Kodak’s story
Once Derrick found out that Kodak was missing, he didn’t waste a minute and immediately formed search parties to look for him. Derrick was in the process of moving to a different city which made it more difficult to look for his missing dog.
Unfortunately, after continuously searching for a week, Derrick called off the search party and began his move to California. The local rescue shelters volunteered in the search as well but ultimately failed in finding the dog.
Despite moving to a different city, Derrick had high hopes that he would soon be reunited with Kodak. After over a year of waiting, Derrick received the best birthday gift he could ever ask for.
Family reunion
Rescuers of ASPCA, American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, found Kodak on the outskirts of Indiana wandering around the streets. Fortunately, Kodak had a microchip which made it easy for the rescuers to find Derrick.
Derrick was shocked when he received the news about Kodak. All that was left to do was transport Kodak to California so Derrick spared no expense and immediately booked Kodak a flight
Julian Javor, the pilot of Pet Rescue Pilots, kept Kodak company during the whole flight. Kodak was evidently nervous but was easily distracted with some treats.
After a few hours of traveling, Kodak was finally in California. Derrick was nervous by the thought that Kodak had forgotten him but was excited to see his beloved dog after twelve long months.
As Kodak deboarded the plane, Derrick was anxiously waiting for him. Kodak immediately recognized his dad and ran up to hug him.
Derrick and Kodak had such an emotional reunion which made the pilot and other volunteers present shed a tear. Finally, after being away from each other, the two were back together and living happily.
