Strong friendships don’t only exist in humans because dogs are also capable of building beautiful relationships. Stephanie and Snoopy, shelter dogs, proved that animal friendships could last. Their rough past served as the glue that binds them. Before the rescue, they stayed in an animal shelter in Israel.
They had deplorable living conditions and were not receiving the care and love they deserved. Dog Tales Rescue and Sanctuary founder Danielle Eden visited the shelter, but couldn’t decide which of the 250 animals to rescue. She believed that all of them needed a new home, so she bought the shelter so all animals would be given another chance of finding a loving family. They had been rescuing dogs for years, and out of the hundreds of animals they saved, two dogs stood out.
The duo refused to be apart, and they even insisted on staying on the same kennel. Clare Forndran of Dog Tales could attest to these dogs’ friendship. Whenever she tried to separate them, one of them would feel devastated. Stephanie was very protective of Snoopy, and since they had become inseparable, the shelter had to find a new home where they could be together.
However, there was one problem that deterred these two dogs from getting adopted. Stephanie was around 11, while Snoopy was 9. They were already considered senior dogs with less chances of finding a loving home. The shelter was not losing hope that a family would welcome the sweet pair.
While they were still waiting for a family to adopt them both, Snoopy and Stephanie made sure to enjoy their time together. Their inspiring story proved that unexpected friendships are still the best ones. Since they shared the same experience, they know what it felt to be neglected and abandoned. Their love for each served as their strength to overcome the challenges ahead and any family would be so lucky to have them.
Staff Adoption Showcase – Heather
One of the most rewarding parts of our job is getting to know the unique personalities of each and every one of our dogs before they move on to their forever homes. This week, we asked different members of our team to tell us about a dog (or, in this case, dogs) that holds a special place in their heart. Heather's choice? Stephanie and Snoopy! Stephanie and Snoopy have been waiting for long time to find a loving home, and they would love to meet you! Visit them this Sunday at our Open Adoption Day! We will be open to the public from 11-5, and are located just north of Toronto at 1405 19th Sideroad, King City.
