Yes, we recognize that this sounds like the story of Hachiko. This time, though, the story takes place in Chongqing, a metropolis in southwest China. In addition, instead of an Akita, this contemporary Hachiko is a Chow Chow mix, and this dog’s tale will not move you to tears.
Both canines demonstrated the same level of loyalty. One of the reasons we adore dogs so much is because they are extremely loyal. However, the ability to wait for their owners for hours is uncommon. Few dog owners could claim that their canines could do that.
The dog in this story is Xiongxiong and he truly blew our minds. Every day, he walks with his human companion to the Liziba train station, which is in close proximity to their home. Then, his father enters the station and begins his workday. Instead of returning home, Xionxiong waits outside for his father’s return.
The majority of canines would have strayed or returned home, but not Xiongxiong. He waits there for twelve hours until his father returns. Xiongxiong had become an internet celebrity as a result of his unusual behavior. People from all around the city flock to the Liziba train station to watch and photograph the dog.
Even more perplexing is the fact that he simply sits there and does not even eat. Fans of Xiongxiong asserted that the dog is so disciplined that he would not consume food or dog treats even if they tried to feed him. Xiongxiong only consumes what his father gives him.
Around seven o’clock in the evening, when Xiongxiong’s owner returns from work, the dog springs to life! As dog lovers, we can appreciate that he is always thrilled to see his father.
Xiongxiong does not have a leash or a collar, but we don’t think he needs them given that everyone in the city is familiar with his presence.
