It is such a sight to behold when influential people use their voice and large following to advance a noble cause and advocacy. Take for instance this famous singer who uses her platform in encouraging people to adopt dogs instead of shopping for one.
Trisha Yearwood, who is best known for her soulful rendition of songs, has posted on Instagram about her newly-acquired dog by way of adoption. She named the dog Millie, their second adopted dog in the family. Millie is a rescued dog, and Yearwood is just too hyped up to give the pooch the better life he deserves.
In the Instagram post, Yearwood mentioned the importance of adopting dogs. For her, many people could help stray dogs through adoption, and she likewise explained that there are several advantages when adopting dogs. For one, adopted dogs are sweet and caring just like any other pooches.
She added that through adoption, people could help save several dogs who are on the verge of being killed through euthanasia. More than saving a dog’s life, people who might want to consider adopting could just find their perfect pair because dog shelters have different types of pooches.
With her massive social media following of around 700,000 followers, Yearwood hopes that her message of adopting instead of buying would reverberate in the ears and hearts of those who will be reached by her post. It might be a farfetched idea, but for her, there is no impossible thing on social media, especially these days.
Yearwood’s advocacy did not fall on deaf ears as several of her followers expressed their desire of adopting dogs at their local dog shelters. With this, Yearwood was commended by a local dog shelter for using her voice to advance the need for adoption.
The singer, though, is not taking any of these praises within her head. For her, she is only doing what she knows is best, and she does this purely out of love to pooches who need a loving home.
