Great Dane Born With Deformed Feet Met A Man Who Eventually Became His Loving Fur Dad

Great Dane Born With Deformed Feet Met A Man Who Eventually Became His Loving Fur Dad

Bridget Kimpton June 4, 2023

The Great Dane named Forrest was born with deformed feet. Because of his condition, the breeder who owned him brought him to an animal clinic to have him euthanized. Thankfully, the veterinarians refused to euthanize him and instead contacted The Animal Pad Dog Rescue for assistance.

As soon as the rescue organization learned about Forrest, one of its volunteers, LB, offered to foster the puppy. She understood that taking care of him would not be simple, but she was up for the challenge.

The puppy was two pounds when he was rescued, but he quickly gained weight as the days passed. At 10 weeks old, he already weighed 19 pounds.

LB knew that he had to do something as soon as possible to correct Forrest’s feet. If the dog didn’t get help right away, he would be in a great deal of agony as an adult.

The majority of surgeons that LB spoke to said there was nothing they could do for the dog.

People began advising her to meet Lumen, a Great Dane with the same problem as Forrest. She did her research and was soon able to get in contact with Lumen’s fur parents.

Lumen and Forrest came from the same breeder and were scheduled to be euthanized at the same veterinary clinic. They could not have been siblings because she was older than Forrest. It was also possible that they have the same dog parents because of their unusual congenital abnormality.

Forrest saw Lumen’s orthopedic surgeon in Oregon and soon underwent surgery. LB was a complete emotional disaster from being separated from him. However, once he had recovered from all of his surgeries, his foster mother cried tears of joy because she was so thrilled to have him back.

During Forrest’s absence, LB met Tyler, her new beau. She was overjoyed and excited to introduce the two, and she didn’t have to worry because Tyler and Forrest were really thrilled to meet each other. They bonded instantly, and LB became the third wheel in their relationship.

When he entered the world, Forrest was in a terrible condition. However, because he refused to give up, he met his fur mom and ended up with a very caring fur dad.
