A Labrador mix named Levi knows the importance of never greeting someone empty-handed. He gets excited every time his mother comes home and makes sure to get the perfect welcome home gift for her.
But when it comes to the Lab’s gifts, his mother knows that it’s the kind intentions that matter.
According to Levi’s mom, Lori Eddins, the first thing that stood out was when he gave her a half-chewed box of screws. She became alarmed and immediately took him to the vet.
Fortunately, Levi had not consumed any of the screws. However, Eddins’s reaction to the “present” motivated Levi to begin an adorable routine.
Eddins thinks that her baby-talking and begging for Levi to surrender the screws might have inspired his deliveries.
From toys to bones and blankets to tufts of grass and scraps of cardboard or paper, Levi has brought almost everything as a present to his beloved fur mom. Eddins’s favorite part was when he located where the flower bed had been cleaned away and presented her flowers.
When Levi meets his mom at the gate empty-handed, she lets him carry her keys to the door, and the adorable pooch would become so proud of himself.
Some of Levi’s presents to her are not usually ones Eddins would pick for herself. He’ll bring her chunks of horse manure from time to time, or he’ll try to pick up one of their chickens to offer to his mother.
Though the chickens aren’t thrilled with the dog’s gift-giving behavior, Eddins is overjoyed to have such a sweet, happy-go-lucky pooch in her life — and she tells Levi so.
Eddins ensures to give her dog hugs and thank him as if he won her the winning lotto ticket. However, she surely admits that some of the things he gives her end up in the garbage. She did, however, save the flowers!
