Gilligan, a rescue dog from the Bedford County Humane Society in Pennsylvania, recently threw an extremely exclusive rager at the shelter where he lives. According to a video posted to TikTok by @stardust9822, Gilligan wreaked havoc on the animal shelter, destroying every plush toy he could get his paws on. One of the toys was a squeaky giraffe, which was found in pieces all over one room, and some of the other toys were strewn in the hallways.
When Gilligan finally tired himself out after a solid hour of playing, he returned to his bed with a few choice toys and settled down for a nap. The staff said that he’s still learning how to behave properly. Until he does, he will stay in his playroom, so he won’t make any more messes.
The Bedford County Humane Society in Virginia said that Gilligan is a friendly dog. He also worked as an official greeter at the shelter and welcomed every potential adopter with his tail wagging. Days at the shelter flew by like any other day.
However, when employees returned to work one morning, they found a mess in the office but couldn’t figure out where it came from. That’s when they checked security footage and found out that it was Gilligan who’d been behind the mischief all night. The employees said that they don’t allow the dogs to roam the shelter when it’s closed.
They explained that a fellow staff member put Gilligan in his kennel for the night. However, he was unable to securely latch the dog’s kennel, so the dog was able to escape into the building after staff left for the night. Luckily for Gilligan, the staff didn’t punish him for his antics.
Gilligan has made a name for himself around the shelter and all over social media. The shelter hopes that someone will want to adopt the dog soon.
