Rescuer Eldad Hagar frequently encounters pregnant strays while doing rescue operations for the animal rescue group Hope For Paws. He is aware that these dogs are in dire need of assistance. He also makes saving pregnant strays a top priority.
One pregnant dog had been living on the streets for months. Sonya, a concerned individual, fed the dog throughout her pregnancy, but the animal would not allow anyone to approach her. The woman decided that it would be best to seek help from professionals in order to save the pregnant stray dog.
Eldad arrived at the area just as Sonya was feeding the dog. The rescuer introduced himself and expressed his gratitude to the Good Samaritan for reporting about the dog. He also requested her to help him with his plan to capture the pregnant dog as gently as possible.
The rescuer urged the Good Samaritan to lead the dog into a yard to make securing the surrounding area easier. They provided the dog some food to encourage it to enter. Sonya attempted to entice the dog for over an hour, but it felt uncomfortable so it wandered off.
Eldad persisted and kept luring the dog into the yard. Thankfully, it did, and Eldad and Sonya quickly closed off the exit with a detachable fence to prevent the dog from escaping.
The rescuer then entered the area to go after the dog, while Sonya remained at the barrier. When Eldad attempted to approach the dog, it fled in the direction of the street. Fortunately, Sonya snagged it before it could escape.
Eldad then used a gentle snare to capture the dog. Both the rescuer and Sonya attempted to calm the dog down as it strained against the restraint. Sonya then put a Lucky Leash on the dog when she had calmed down, and she named her Sally.
Eldad accompanied Sally to the hospital where she got a bath and an examination to ensure that she and her pups were healthy. She then was transferred to her foster home, where she gave birth to Mustang, Wilson, Nova, and Chevy.
Sally and her pups are currently waiting for their permanent homes.
