Do dogs crush on other dogs? Some may have this impression that dogs’ attraction towards other dogs is just basic and instinctive, but can people really tell?
Well, it seems that some pooches actually harbor a crush on their fellow dogs. A pup named Phoenix is out to prove that!
Phoenix clearly knows what she likes – and what she fancies is actually just living next door. Here’s a story of puppy love that will surely make you feel things.
The lovestruck dog
In a cute video uploaded to TikTok, you could see the lovestruck pooch excitedly looking through a tiny hole on her backyard fence. She even looked at her owner smilingly at the start of the clip. As it turned out, the Golden Retriever was actually looking at Bentley, a cuddly and fluffy white pup who was living next door.
It seemed that Phoenix and Bentley’s love story has already started long before the video. The two would usually go on playdates.
Thankfully, Bentley and Phoenix’s respective owners have caught on to their dogs’ romance. It appeared that the owners had been doing their best to make sure that the dogs would always see each other.
TikTok people are invested in their love story
The said TikTok clip has been viewed more than 950K times. It also has more than 170K likes, over 1.6K shares, and about 515 comments. A lot of people were clearly invested in Phoenix and Bentley’s story.
One jokingly remarked that Phoenix would be the only Peeping Tom that he/she would tolerate. Another said that if this wasn’t an ‘80s teen romance trope, she didn’t know what was. A third netizen believed that Phoenix and Bentley were star-crossed lovers.
Some commented on Phoenix’s appeal. One said that the Golden Retriever resembled a children’s show character called Bear in the Big Blue House. Another marveled at the fact that Golden Retrievers had the best smiles.
