Meet Fin, a rescue pup who accidentally ended up having the best fur dad ever. It all started when the pup was supposed to be adopted by a family in Southern California.
Elias, founder of The Dogist, and his brother Henry Friedman decided to travel to Southern California to bring the pup to his future family. Henry owned a converted cargo van which was perfect for their trip. With all the odds looking good, they headed towards their destination with Fin.
But things did not go just as planned for the trio. The family who agreed to adopt the pup canceled their adoption agreement. But the family’s cancelation wasn’t so bad because it turns out that throughout their trip, Henry became fond of Fin and was more than happy to adopt the pup himself.
Henry lived in his van and was an avid traveler, as for the pup, he quickly adopted his fur dad’s love for travel and they quickly became the best duo. Wanting to share the scenes and places they visited together with Fin, Henry created an Instagram account that quickly gained over 197,000 followers! Henry really enjoyed his life with Fin and the freedom they have to go wherever they want, but he decided to do more than just have fun.
Henry decided to help out rescue pups he finds throughout his traveling. In August 2019, he even started a project that focused on helping rescue pups find their own homes. And every month, Henry posts a picture of rescue pups on Instagram to raise awareness of shelters that need help.
Henry also works with other animal organizations to raise funds to finance food drives, vaccinations, neuter clinics, and even rescue flights for rescue pups. Through their hard work, Henry and Fin have been able to raise $13,000 a month to fund his project. Henry said that at first, he only intended to stay in his van for some months. However, seeing how much help he and Fin can give because of their travels made him decide to continue traveling with his pup for more years to come.
