Rescuing stray dogs and dogs from abusive and neglectful owners is only half the battle for animal rescue organizations. To truly help the dogs they rescue, they need to find a loving forever home for each of them. The hardest part of all dog rescues is to make sure that the people adopting them can provide a loving home.
Also, most popular animal rescue organizations post their rescues on social media. This draws a lot of attention, and these animal rescue organizations receive a lot of adoption applications for the dogs they feature. There’s no way to tell if the person adopting the dogs will give the dogs a good forever home.
Villalobos Rescue Center interviews each potential adopter for them to have a good idea of what sort of people who are going to adopt the dogs in their care. Everyone at the Villalobos Rescue Center is passionate about what they do, and they genuinely care for the dogs they rescue. However, no one’s more passionate than the rescue’s founder, Tia Torres.
A couple from Idaho set up an appointment with Tia about potentially adopting a dog. Tia was informed that the couple had a huge farm and previously had pets who already passed away. It’s been a while that the couple had any pets in the house and eventually decided that they were ready to adopt another one to be part of their family.
The couple, Mark and Kim, drove all the way from New Orleans to the Villalobos Rescue Center facility in New Orleans to meet with Tia and talk about what they’re looking for. When the couple stated that they wanted a puppy so they would grow up getting used to farm animals, Tia had a puppy named Hannah in mind.
Hannah’s story is a unique one. Hannah’s mom was in distress during labor, which caused some of the puppies to die. Hannah survived, but she also had a condition called Swimmers Syndrome. Hannah was unable to walk, but with extensive therapy, Hannah finally learned to walk.
As soon as Tia was introduced to Mark and Kim, they immediately fell in love. Tia could see it in the couple’s eyes that they were the perfect couple. What’s even more adorable was that a tough-looking cowboy, Mark, started to baby talk and roll around the grass with Hannah. After the adoption paperwork was sorted, the couple went back home to Idaho, where they’ll wait for Hannah to be delivered.
Tia’s daughter, Tania, also worked at the facility and has been tasked to deliver Hannah to Mark and Kim. It was an uneventful drive, but when Tania finally arrived at the couple’s property, she could immediately see that Hannah would be very happy with the couple. While waiting for Tania, Mark and Kim already started getting ready by buying dog crates, dog beds, and lots of toys to welcome the newest member of their family.
Tania had a quick tour of the couple’s home, and she saw that the house, including the backyard, would be perfect for Hannah. When Tania brought Hannah out of the car, she couldn’t wait to give her new parents some love and cuddles. Tania couldn’t believe her eyes when Hannah was pulling on the leash so that Hannah could go to her new forever family.
Dog rescue organizations like Villalobos Rescue Center work very hard to make sure that the dogs they rescue go to the perfect family. They make sure that loving families adopt all the dogs under their care. Here’s a video showing Hannah’s adoption. Hannah has a lot of room to play, and by having an active mom and dad, Hannah will undoubtedly be delighted in her new home.
