Gumbo was used to being only fur baby in his family. His owner, Alexis, said that Gumbo is so spoiled that she frequently reprimands him for inappropriate behavior, including chewing on cardboard boxes, shoes, and Christmas decorations. You can just imagine how much stuff the cat has chewed on and destroyed.
When Alexis stares at Gumbo, she sometimes gets the impression that he is having a debate with himself. Alexis believes that her cat finds it annoying that she is always in his business because he is constantly reprimanded for doing things he is not permitted to do. However, she attempts to make up for it by lavishing Gumbo with attention to make him feel appreciated.
Gumbo believes that he will always be the sole pet in his fur parents’ lives because that has always been the case. That is why Gumbo was really surprised when his owners chose to adopt a dog named Koda.
Gumbo was horrified to see his father petting Koda, the new puppy he affectionately referred to as “Poopy.” The cat could not help but be confused when his mother told him that Koda would be his new brother, as he knew nothing about the dog.
When Gumbo’s parents warned him not to bite the puppy, he became angry since he believed he was their only child. Gumbo immediately realized that his owners were again giving him orders, so he began to smack the puppy out of irritation.
When Gumbo stopped smacking the puppy, Alexis began feeding Gumbo with cat treats. The fur parent observed her cat was struggling to adjust to its new life with a dog brother. Gumbo must also have learned that not swatting Koda would win him treats, because he began to behave well whenever his canine sibling was there.
