Seven Months After Losing Her Pet Yorkie, Lady Travels Almost 800 Miles To Reunite With Her Dog

Seven Months After Losing Her Pet Yorkie, Lady Travels Almost 800 Miles To Reunite With Her Dog

Bridget Kimpton November 11, 2023

Distance is not an obstacle when it comes to love. This is proven true by a former university student in Denver named Kenyetta Tyler.

When she lost her dog, a Yorkie mix named Coco, she had a feeling her pet would eventually be found. Even after months had passed and her family moved to another state, she always believed that she would be reunited with her beloved pooch one day.

And when it did happen, approximately seven months after they were separated, she dropped everything she was doing and flew almost 800 miles to see her best friend again. They had a very heartwarming and emotional reunion which made everyone around them shed tears of joy.

Gone

Kenyetta lost Coco when they were out for a walk. Somehow, the dog shook loose from her collar, and sprinted away before her owner could react. The young lady quickly lost sight of the white dog.

With the help of family and friends, Kenyetta organized a massive search for Coco. They used every means they could to find the pooch. But sadly, several months passed, and there was still no sign of her.

When her family had to move to Texas, she begged everyone to keep on searching for her pet.

Together again

219 days after losing her pooch, Kenyetta received a call from an animal control officer of the Denver Animal Protection office. The caller said a small dog was found running loose in Northern Denver. Officers took the canine in and found her microchip. That’s where they got her owner’s contact details.

Kenyetta was overjoyed to learn that her dog had been found. She immediately bought plane tickets and flew to Denver. After her plane landed, she went straight to the local shelter.

The pet owner waited excitedly to see her dog. And when Coco finally came out, the little pooch ran to her owner, wagging her tail and barking in joy. She kept on jumping until Kenyetta picked her up. The happy lady hugged her pet while the dog kept on kissing her face.

Kenyetta credits the return of her pet largely on the microchip she had. She said every dog owner must invest in it. And of course, she was also very grateful to everyone who helped get her pooch back.
