There are times that animal shelters face low adoption rates. This is a common problem that most animal shelters face. However, these shelters always have tricks to offer to ensure that adoptable dogs still find permanent families. In the past, some of these attempts were successful, but some were not.
Fortunately, a post from the Wichita Falls Animal Services featuring an adoptable Husky received enough traction. The post showed a dog sitting next to the shelter’s new employee, who is good-looking. The dog received numerous adoption requests, but the post went viral because of the handsome man.
According to the shelter, it was not intentional that they included Zackry Majewski in the image. The photo’s focus was Sky, but since the dog is somehow playful, they needed Zackry’s help for a successful photo shoot. As they said, the rest was history since the photo became viral because of Zackry’s good looks.
While the shelter received calls on Sky’s adoption, they mentioned that some people likewise became so intrigued about Zackry. Based on the shelter’s record, the man joined the organization in October 2020. Besides Zackry’s good looks, his fellow employees lauded him for his compassion for animals inside the shelter.
According to Zackry’s co-workers, the man would go the extra mile to help adoptable dogs to get adopted. But more than that, they saw how dedicated Zackry is to his job, so it was not a surprise for them that Zackry became an instant celebrity.
Meanwhile, the shelter is choosing carefully who to give Sky’s custody to as they received more than 100 applications. For now, the shelter’s focus is on Sky’s adoption and they promised that they would give everyone who applied an equal footing. It would be a challenging decision for the shelter, but they will weigh all possible options for the dog.
