In late March, Charlotte and Dale Robson were out shopping in Nantwich, England and decided to tie their black Labradors, Denzel and Welly, at the store’s main entrance. Little did they knew that they were making a huge mistake. You see, while they shopped inside, two men took advantage of the opportunity and stole the poor pups.
They stealthily snatched the dogs’ leads and dragged them away from the supermarket. When the couple came out of the retail outlet, they were extremely heartbroken to find Denzel and Welly missing from their spots. They tried looking for them around the area in case they just wandered around, but witnesses told them that the dogs were stolen.
With this information, Charlotte and Dale went straight to the local police station to report the theft. They were told that Denzel and Welly might had been stolen for illegal breeding as this type of crime was a “low-risk but high reward” way of making money.
Fortunately, the couple was able to retrieve some CCTV footage of the said dognapping, thanks to the authorities’ help. However, since the thieves’ faces were unclear in the videos, the police officers still had to look for locals who saw the crime in action.
Meanwhile, the Robsons decided to turn to social media to spread the word, hoping that this would somehow speed up the search. They began sharing photos of the two Labradors and encouraging people to get in touch with them if any leads came up.
Surprisingly, lots of people came forward to offer their help and even reported possible leads. So just after three days since Denzel and Welly’s disappearance, the couple reported that they had been found! They couldn’t be more grateful to the Chesire police and the netizens who helped them get their fur babies back. Look at the happy reunion here.
