It is always distressing to find an abandoned dog in a house where no one lives anymore. The dog never leaves because it believes that its owner will return. Moments like this inspire dog rescuers to continue their work.
Bo is an example of a dog abandoned by its owners. He was living without food or water in his old doghouse. To make matters worse, he was attacked by coyotes and he also suffered from severe mange.
The rescuers who found him gave him some food, which he devoured quickly. However, no amount of treats could convince him to leave his doghouse and join the rescuers. After some time, the rescuers decided to put Bo on a leash and pull him out carefully.
Bo was terrified when a leash was placed on him and he hid from the rescuers. The rescuers had to prod him to come out. The ordeal lasted more than 45 minutes and ended only when one rescuer was able to seize Bo’s paws.
Despite using force, the rescuers ensured that the dog was not injured. But they had to do it because Bo was too stubborn. But the attention that he received after his rescue made up for what he went through during the rescue.
A woman named Patricia Williams became Bo’s adoptive mother. She has experience as a dog rescuer so she knew what it took to help a dog recover from a horrible past. Within two months of being with Patricia, Bo’s appearance and demeanor changed considerably.
Bo needed an additional six months to properly accept his new situation. As soon as he understood he was safe, he began to live life to the fullest. Whenever he could, he would run and play without fear of being abandoned once again. He is happy now and he definitely deserves this kind of life.
