Katelyn and Howard Newstate are two freelancers who always have had a sense of adventure. Their surname fits them wonderfully because they frequently visit a new state. The Newstates reside in a 200-square-foot RV with their darling dogs, Ella and Piper.
The pair is accustomed to confronting a variety of situations while traveling, but they were unprepared for what was waiting for them in Mexico.
One day, Katelyn was sitting on the beach and watching the sunset when a dog dropped down next to her. Katelyn chose to play with the dog after observing that she was friendly. The remainder of the afternoon was spent in each other’s company.
What Katelyn believed to be a random encounter turned out to be something that would forever alter her life. The next day, she was surprised to find the dog waiting for her outside their RV after she had assumed she would no longer see it after their time at the beach together. The dog appeared repeatedly until the couple decided to adopt her.
The couple could not afford to adopt another dog, but they also did not have the heart to turn away the beach dog. They ultimately took her to the veterinarian to have her vaccinated, and they trained her to become accustomed to wearing a collar. The greatest difficulty was convincing her to ride the RV.
During the dog’s training, they found out that it had a home. When they went to visit her owner, he assured them they could keep her after seeing how much they cared for her. The pair offered to send money for the dog’s needs if they were unable to convince her to ride in the RV, as they were reluctant to remove her from her home, and the owner agreed.
Surprisingly, the dog soon gained the bravery to travel in the RV with the couple and their two dogs. They interpreted it as a sign that it was time for her to join the family. She was named Scout. Since then, she has been exploring new states with them.
