A pit bull named Promise was paralyzed when she was a puppy after a car door smashed her leg. But that tragedy didn’t hold her back. Today, Promise is living her life to the fullest in a wheelchair. She remains a happy pup with a sweet smile for everyone.
After living at a regular shelter, Promise has been finally adopted by a facility that specializes in taking care of handicapped dogs like her.
Here’s Promise’s heartwarming story:
Promise the happy dog
When she was a puppy, Promise was taken to a shelter called Grand Stand Humane Society in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. Everybody at the facility loved her.
The said shelter created an Instagram page for her where she had more than 900 followers. On the said Instagram page, the shelter shares many of Promise’s favorite experiences. Apparently, the adorable pit bull loves playing in a kiddie pool or running around in her wheelchair.
Despite Promise’s gentle personality, no one wanted to take her home. But the dog didn’t mind that at all. Promise knew that she just had to be patient and wait for the right people to come along.
Promise’s new life
After almost a year of living at the Grand Stand Humane Society, Promise was finally able to get a glimpse of a brighter day. She’s now bound for Washington! This is because a sanctuary named Angels with Misplaced Wings will be adopting her.
Angels with Misplaced Wings is actually a shelter for special needs dogs. This means that Promise will be living with other pooches who are just like her.
In a statement released by Angels with Misplaced Wings online, the shelter said that a year was already a long time for Promise to endure. They shared that it was time for them to step up and give the sweet pit bull the forever family and home she deserved.
Angels with Misplaced Wings will also be taking over Promise’s Instagram page. If you want to follow this dog’s story, just just check out her Instagram profile below.
