We know very well that dogs are our best friends, but sometimes, they can be even more than our friends. The amazing 11-year-old pit bull named Sadie understood the role of a hero quite literally.
Sadie lives with Serena and her young daughter Gracie. Sadie is a rescue pup, and Serena adopted her when she was a young puppy. Eleven years later, Sadie has got the chance to save her mom and return the favor.
Sadie and her family live in an old house in Tuckahoe, New York. Sadie proved that she’s much more than just a pet pooch to Serene and Gracie – she is their savior.
The hero
One day, Serena was at work, and she received a call saying that Sadie had gotten out of the house. The dog was found outside, pacing around, and barking. Sadie’s behavior gave Serena a reason to believe that something unusual was going on.
Serena said that she’s been living with Sadie for 11 years and that Sadie never tried to escape. Why would she do that now? Serena knew something was wrong, and she left work in a hurry.
When Serena arrived home, she saw the fire department and police in front of her home. They told Serena that Sadie was the one who led them behind the house, where they discovered a gas leak.
They realized Sadie had been trying to get out by clawing at multiple doors. Somehow she managed to open the sliding door, and she went outside to search for help.
Sadie’s loud barking alerted the neighbors that something was going on, and they went to investigate. After the neighbors followed Sadie behind the house, they smelled gas and called the emergency services immediately.
Incredibly smart dog
Serena was amazed by her beloved dog’s ingenuity and how she managed to save herself and their home from a potential disaster. Sadie’s owner Serena said that everyone should always pay attention to little clues that our pets give us.
