The Navy Seal Museum is there to promote education about what the navy does and how they go about doing it. This includes their newly formed K9 Project, where they show the public how the dogs that are in service play a vital part in their operations.
Training demonstrations
The museum’s main purpose is to educate the public. Because of this, they have fully working dogs like Raven, who work fulltime with the people in the museum to showcase what these military dogs can do and how they are trained to do so. Together with Baden K9, the training of these dogs has become one of the most extensive and best in the world. The dogs are able to be protection assets and explosive detectors while still being sweet and approachable by civilians.
Handlers and their dogs perform demonstrations for the public to show them how they work together for their unit to work as a whole. They also educate the people about how important the roles of the dogs are during a Navy seal’s operation.
Helping veterans
These fully-trained dogs are not only there to help out with the soldiers in active service. They are also there to help out veterans and their families. The museum, along with Baden K9, has also been working with veterans who are in need of protection dogs. These dogs are fully capable of being in the field but have also been trained to be at home with these retired soldiers.
They are there to help the veterans get up and about and remain active in their normal lives. They also give emotional support to the vets who may have developed some instability because of their time on the battlefield. The sense of protection that these dogs give to their owners help them cope with their day to day living.
