For stray dogs, finding a place where they could take shelter in is an important one. It doesn’t matter where or what it is, as long as it can provide them shelter, they would take it.
The dog in our story found shelter underneath a grocery cart which had been abandoned and parked beside an apartment. People who lived in the area saw the dog who was named Bailey under the cart. They contacted animal rescuers to help save the dog. While they were waiting, they gave the dog water and food.
A team from Rescue From The Hart came. They were informed that Bailey would growl when people came near her. The rescuers checked out Bailey’s status and found out that she was pregnant.
This was probably the reason why Bailey was being overprotective. So the rescuers knew that they had to make Bailey trust them first. They didn’t rush into rescuing Bailey. They spent time with her while giving her treats.
Bailey would go out of the cart but she would go back right in. After some time, Bailey allowed one of the rescuers to give her pets. She loved getting her fur stroked and she started to relax.
The rescuers then did their best to make sure that they didn’t break Bailey’s trust. After a while, they were able to secure her with a leash. Bailey didn’t even struggle. They were able to take her to their home office.
In just a few weeks, Bailey had five puppies. Four were female and one was male. The rescuers called the whole troop their Bailey Bunch.
Bailey got the help she needed and she was happy. She had her puppies who were also growing beautifully and they were very healthy, too. Soon, they were put up for adoption and they all got happy loving families to take care of them.
